The founder of the firm, Gregory A. Bloom, PE, GE has over 10 years of experience in geotechnical consulting in Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Clara Counties for commercial, public works, and residential projects.

Mr. Bloom has practiced geotechnical engineering in the Monterey Bay Region for the past 11 years. Typical projects include single family residences, commercial projects, retaining walls, landslide investigations and mitigation, pipelines, road and pavement design, and cell towers. These projects are located in environments that range from soft and liquefiable soil to bedrock. Mr. Bloom’s experience includes managing projects from the design phase through construction. Butano Geotechnical Engineering, Inc. also employs a full time administrative employee and a full time field and laboratory technician.
Relevant Projects
Pebble Beach Cell Tower Project (2003)- Provided geotechnical design criteria for 6 cell tower and vault sites spread throughout the Del Monte Forest.
Single Family Residences Within Pebble Beach (1998 to present)- I have provided geotechnical reports on approximately 20 residential projects over the past 10 years.
York School Athletic Fields (2002)- Provided geotechnical design criteria for a new sports complex adjacent to Fort Ord (City of Monterey). Project included mass grading for a soccer field, track, parking, and associated improvements.
